Yachad Program coordinators set up dozens of pop-up bakeries across Israel, giving participants young and old an opportunity to make their own matzot.
“More than just seeing matza being sold in the supermarket, we enabled them make it with their own hands and establish a sense of ownership,” reports Yachad’s educational director, Yigal Klein. “For the children in particular, this enabled them to enter the Pesach holiday with some general knowledge about the relevant concepts and traditions – which they then shared with their families,” he says.
