Agreement for Mutual Respect

It’s wedding season, which means that more and more loving, caring and responsible young couples are signing the Agreement for Mutual Respect, a halakhic prenuptial agreement designed to prevent get-abuse. This week, Mali and Dov popped by the Jerusalem office of OTS’s Yad La’isha: The Monica Dennis Goldberg Legal Aid Center this week to sign the agreement before beginning their happy life together.

“We decided to sign because we believe in equality between us and view this as an important value, but also because we don’t want the phenomenon of get-refusal to continue to be a problem. We hope that our signing will encourage others to sign as well.”
