Rabbi Itamar and Michal Applebaum JLIC Cornell

It’s summertime, and that means that the halls of Israel’s Ben Gurion airport are filled to the brim with passengers coming and going to Israel – including graduates of Beren-Amiel and Straus-Amiel, Ohr Torah Stone’s emissary training programs, who are embarking on exciting shlichut opportunities on behalf of the Jewish people in the Diaspora.

Pictured here is just one such family – Rabbi Itamar and Michal Applebaum, who departed this week for New York where they will be serving as the JLIC rabbinic couple at Cornell University!

The Applebaums are just one of 20 families taking up new positions of educational and spiritual leadership around the globe this summer, joining 292 Beren-Amiel and Straus-Amiel shlichim already enlightening and rejuvenating Jewish communities, campuses and congregations in 93 cities in 36 countries across the globe.

We are proud and excited about these idealistic young women and men who represent the largest modern Orthodox shlichut network in the world!
