Many students and alumni of OTS’s Robert M. Beren Machanaim Hesder Yeshiva are mobilized in both the standing army and the IDF reserves, defending Israel on all fronts.

On the yeshiva home front remain the young students who have not yet inducted into the army, who are mobilized in intensive Torah study while continuing to contribute to the war effort in every possible way. This week they were privileged to hear from Israeli Religious Zionist rabbi, author, lecturer and posek Rabbi Yosef Zvi Rimon, rabbi of the Gush Etzion Regional Council. In his shiur, Rav Rimon reviewed various areas of the halakhot related to war, sharing some of the recent issues and questions that have arisen from soldiers and officers currently in the field. Rav Rimon also provided comprehensive answers to relevant questions the students posed regarding current events.

May we speedily arrive at a time when the study of the laws of war will be only theoretical and limited to the beit midrash!
