Surrounded by alumnae of Midreshet Lindenbaum and a host of other OTS Annual Dinner guests, Rosh Midrasha Rabbanit Sally Mayer dances with the Sefer Torah dedicated in honor of Rabbi Riskin at the dedication celebration that took place on December 10.
The special Sefer Torah will be brought to Israel and in March 2020, in a festive ceremony, it will be danced into its permanent home at Midreshet Lindenbaum. “I am especially proud that the Torah will be at Midreshet Lindenbaum and used in the largest beit midrash for women in the world,” said Rabbi Riskin. “One of my profound convictions remains the fact that teaching Torah – and especially the Oral Torah of the Sages, the Talmud, and its commentaries – to women, 51% of our Jewish population, is critical to our post-holocaust generation,” he said.
