“We are in the middle of a milchemet mitzva – a mandatory or holy war – where according to the Talmud ‘Everyone goes out [to fight], even a groom from his wedding room, and a bride from her wedding canopy,'” said Rabbi Ohad Teharlev, director of Israeli programs at Midreshet Lindenbaum, at the annual conference for religious 12th grade girls.

“It is the personal duty of each and every one of us to bear the burden during this time, and those of you who choose to come learn in the seminary beit midrash prior to your military service will be instilled with additional spiritual fuel to sustain you during your military service.”
