Acheinu kol beit Yisrael – We must always remember that we are all, in fact, one family.

On Sunday, Midreshet Lindenbaum‘s Maria and Joel Finkle Overseas Program came together with the Elaine and Norm Darkaynu Program, the Amlat Program and the Israeli post-high school programs to express solidarity with the Pittsburgh community.

Rosh Midrasha Rabbanit Sally Mayer read the girls a letter that OTS President Rabbi Kenneth Brander had sent earlier in the day to the Rabbi and President of the Tree of Life Synagogue, as well as a letter of sadness and strength from Midreshet Lindenbaum alumna Leah Joshowitz of Pittsburgh.

After reading  Tehillim for the wounded and for the souls of the murdered, the girls concluded by singing of “Acheinu Kol Beit Yisrael” –a haunting declaration of solidarity and familial responsibility to all our sisters and brothers around the world.
