Gush Etzion Heroine

Shaked Gabai with Davidi PerlMayor of Gush Etzion, Davidi Perl, writes:

“Yesterday I met a national heroine. Shaked Gabai, a student in Ohr Torah Stone’s Ulpanat Oriya came to my office, two weeks after she witnessed the terror attack at the bus stop in Alon Shvut, in which Dalia Lemkus, z”l, was murdered. Shaked, who was on her way home, saw the terror attack on the other side of the street. She ran to the Alon Shvut gate and alerted the guard, who ran to the scene. She did not panic or lose her composure, and her quick thinking and ability to act ultimately brought an end to the attack. I presented Shaked with a copy of the book “Machleket HaHar” (“The Mountain Brigade,” about the “Lamed Heh” convoy of 35 Palmach defenders who set out to beseiged Gush Etzion in 1948) and I told her that with her actions she has joined the chain of Gush heroes. Particularly during such a difficult time, in the midst of events that are so hard to comprehend, I garner strength, faith and hope from our wonderful youth that continues to believe and continues to take action.”
