Looking Into the Eyes of the Fallen – and Saluting

18-year-old Neriya Durlicher, a senior at OTS’s Neveh Channah High School for Girls, painted portraits of fallen soldiers on bullet casing as part of her art major matriculation project: “It was a complex project, because of the rounded shape of the casings and because during the work I got to know the story of each one of the 608 fallen soldiers. It is important to me that we remember and commemorate them. I didn’t want to just write their names, because it is the person’s face that enters the heart”.
