  • תהילים – A Musical and textual exploration with Ohr Torah Stone scholar, Rabbi Alex Israel, Senior Educator at Midreshet Lindenbaum’s Maria and Joel Finkle Overseas Program
  • Chavruta and Shiur: The Jewish Imperative of Simcha by Rabbi Binyamin Zimmerman, Educational Director of Zomet Institute
  • Simcha & Aliya L’Regel: Visit the Davidson Center in the Old City. Immerse yourself in the story of ancient Jerusalem where thousands of Jews walked 2000 years ago, making their way to Temple Mount.
  • Mincha at the Kotel
  • Shiur: Yir’at Hashem and Ahavat Hashem by Rabbi Kenneth Brander, President and  Rosh HaYeshiva Ohr Torah Stone
  • Return to the hotel.

  • תהילים – A Musical and textual exploration with Ohr Torah Stone scholar, Rabbi Sarel Rosenblatt, Rosh Kollel of the Joseph and Gwendolyn Straus Rabbinical Seminary
  • Chavruta and Shiur: Wine, Whiskey and Halacha by Rav Eliyahu Gattno, Rosh Kollel Ohr Torah Stone,  Josef and Gwendolyn Straus Rabbinic Seminary
  • Shiur: Tefilah – In the Presence of Hashem by Rabbi Dov Zinger, Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivat Mekor Chaim, founder of the Beit Midrash L’Hitchadshut, author of numerous seforim on tefilah.
  • Drive to the Elah Valley Winery for lunch, wine tasting and a conversation with the vintner about Biblical winemaking traditions in the Elah Valley.
  • Visit the Hollander Distillery, which represents the story of Israel and the ingathering of the exiles – the Hollander family was a family of successful distillers in Europe whose enterprise was cut short by the devastation of the Shoah and restored by future generations in the Judean Hills.

  • Shiur: Simcha is Here and Now by Rav Yakov Nagen, Director of Ohr Torah Stone’s Blickle Institute of Interfaith and Dialogue
  • Visit Mizmor Music School in Givat Washington to experience an engaging synthesis of traditional Jewish texts and music. Join a Master Class with CJ Glass and Naor Carmi, as a way of deepening Jewish connections and spiritual growth through Jewish music.

Thursday, November 30, 2023 – Defining Rabbinic Judaism

  • Breakfast at the hotel.

  • Chavruta and Shiur:  Differing Nusach as Tikun for Differing Galuyot. Why is Music Fundamental to Jewish Prayer? by Elli Jaffe, Choirmaster of the Great Synagogue, Founder of the first Cantorial School in Jerusalem, renowned musical composer and arranger
  • Continue to Nachlaot neighborhoods for a guided walk, following the diverse musical traditions of local synagogues with Rabbi Drori Yehoshua
  • Lunch on your own in the Machane Yehudah Market 
  • Visit Hebrew Music Museum – A musical journey back to the Holy Temple, connecting through the language of the heart-music.
  • Dinner Break
  • Thursday night Mishmar: Music, Chulent and Challah, a walking tour through Beit Yisrael, Geulah and Meah Shearim

  • Kabbalat Shabbat
