Tell us about the community you’re in:
A warm and loving community of 350 members, whose first priority is the common good.
What did you receive from the Straus-Amiel Rabbinical Emissary Training Progam and the Claudia Cohen Women Educator Institute?
Familiarity with the community, developing the ability to find the common ground, and the ability to prepare a toolbox with which to help the community and the rabbi’s family to work together as oneץ
What message would you like to impart regarding shlichut?
Respect the opinions of community members and accept their feelings. Find the place where the community can change from being passive to active, and then find the place where opportunities for Torah study can be created in the community. To start working with bar/bat mitzvah boys and girls a year prior, and continuing the connections made after the bar/bat mitzvah is over. And to continue to accompany families who are experiencing difficulties even after those challenges have been overcome.
