Meet Rabbanit Bat-El Picar, a second-year fellow in OTS’s Susi Bradfield Women’s Institute of Halakhic Leadership (WIHL).
A resident of Tel Menashe in northern Shomron, Bat-El is also one of the founders of the MidraIsha – an innovative “mobile seminary” where halakha is taught by women. Previously, Bat El worked in non-formal education, in the Bnei Akiva movement and more. She is married to Nadav and the mother of Zvi, Gilad, Hillel and Ivri.
“I was looking for a place in which I could expand my world of halakha and Jewish thought. A place in which I could grow in Torah in general and in women’s Torah studies in particular, along with gaining leadership abilities,” she says.
