Meet Rabbanit Ravit Kalech, fourth-year fellow in OTS’s Susi Bradfield Women’s Institute of Halakhic Leadership (WIHL).
A resident of Modiin, Ravit is married to Meir and a mother of four boys: Oren, David, Barak and Zohar. Before enrolling in the WIHL, she worked in the Israel Aircraft Industries legal department as an attorney specializing in international relations.
“I see great importance in the world of the Torah and in the fact that women will take an active role and be partners in it,” she says. “For many years this was only a dream, and when it became possible for me to realize the dream it was clear to me that I wanted to study at the WIHL because of the in-depth and intense studies, acquisition of tools for understanding the way of halakha and simultaneously development of female leadership roles in our community and in society in general.”
