Boca Raton Family Names Leading Israeli Girls High School
The Katz Oriya High School Expanded With Gift of Caroline & Daniel Katz and Family

(Gush Etzion – January 8, 2023) The Israel-based educational network Ohr Torah Stone (OTS) has announced the naming of the Katz Oriya Girls High School through a multi-million dollar gift from Caroline and Daniel Katz and Family of Boca Raton, FL. Located in the Gush Etzion region just outside of Jerusalem, the Oriya School is recognized as a flagship for academic and cultural excellence for young religious Zionist girls and an environment that promotes Torah scholarship alongside the arts, sciences, athletics and a passionate commitment to the land and people of Israel.
“In naming this school, the Katz’s have once again shown their commitment to furthering quality education for Israel’s next generation,” said Rabbi Dr. Kenneth Brander, President and Rosh HaYeshiva of Ohr Torah Stone. “Through their generosity, we will be able to strengthen Oriya both physically and academically in ways that we know can directly help advance these young women to achieve greatness in their lives ahead. Caroline and Daniel’s generosity changed the face of education in Boca Raton, and they are now making a significant mark on the 500 Israeli students enrolled in Oriya each year.”
Ulpanat Oriya was established in Gush Etzion in 2009 with the goal of providing girls with the opportunity to develop their creativity and self-identity in a warm and nurturing Torah atmosphere. The school prides itself on a unique educational approach of reaching out to each and every girl through a variety of programming options on different levels.
“We were so impressed with the location of the school and its new beautiful campus along with the array of enriching courses offered, only to be outdone by the caring and devoted administrators, teachers and deserving students who are blessed to be the beneficiaries of all of the above! We are so honored to be associated with such a wonderful school,” Daniel Katz stated. “Our sincere hope is that this gift will help thousands of young women grow in their studies and their personal development in ways that will help them become dedicated lifelong learners and proud Modern Orthodox Israelis in the future.
