Ohr Torah Stone is lighting the way!
Adding light… our way.
The sixth night has arrived, and tonight we celebrate the students, staff and madrichim of the Elaine and Norm Brodsky Darkaynu Program – the only program enabling Orthodox youth from abroad with special needs to spend a gap year learning Torah and experiencing Israel.
Darkaynu – which means “our way” – was established for young men and women with developmental, physical and cognitive disabilities out of a belief that Judaism and Israel should be made accessible for every Jew to experience… in their own way. This year there are 29 students from USA, Canada, Australia and England, and each of them receives the support and attention that he or she needs – thanks to the dedicated staffs and counselors of both the men’s and women’s programs.
Happy Chanukah Darkaynu! Continue to serve as an example to us all in facing challenges, perseverance and social solidarity… each of you in your own special way!
